About Areef Hack

Areef joined Waratah Capital Advisors in 2026 to lead business development for the firm’s retail channel and support capital formation initiatives across its broader client base, including multi-family offices, single-family offices and institutional investors.

Prior to joining Waratah, Areef spent more than 10 years at a Canadian hedge fund, where he was responsible for business development and relationship management with a global institutional and private wealth client investor base. Most recently, he served as Partner & Head of Relationships at a boutique Toronto asset manager.

With over a decade of experience in the alternative investment industry, Areef has developed long-standing relationships across a broad range of investor segments. He works closely with clients on portfolio positioning, risk management and capital allocation, helping investors navigate alternative investment solutions while fostering trusted, long-term partnerships.

Areef holds a Master of Finance from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Commerce from York University. He is registered as a Dealing Representative.
