About Benjamin Thorek

Benjamin joined Waratah Capital Advisors in 2013. He manages capital within the real estate, technology and defense sectors for the Waratah Funds and sits on the Investment Committee of Summerhill Resorts Ltd.

Prior to Waratah, Benjamin was at Genuity Capital Partners, where he focused on middle-market private equity investments in the consumer products and business services sectors. Before Genuity, he worked in Corporate Finance at SkyPower Corp., a large Canadian renewable energy developer.

Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Queen’s University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge, both in Chemical Engineering. He is a CFA charterholder.
